I definitely acknowledge that the info space for pc perf threads gets gunked up with superstition, overly anecdotal evidence, random cargo cult thinking and so on. It's probably totally unrelated but I want to check it out because if it was hitting limits (I have no idea if this is even vaguely plausible!) then maybe shit is going wrong somehow. I want to look into how big the cache is, because in nvidia profile inspector I noticed there's an option for cache size limits. Like that it's building inadequately, or even failing to store new things after they're generated in some cases. Then talk of deleting shader cache and forcing a rebuild improving things - it makes me wonder if there could be something deeply wrong with it.
